Sanitation in Ghana: An attitudinal problem

"Accra faces waste management crisis" was a headline that appeared on the back cover of the 3rd January 2013 edition of the Daily Graphic, Ghana's premier daily newspaper. I felt sad reading this 'news'. Ghana has been politically independent for 55yrs now but still struggles to keep her environment clean due to indiscipline.

After 55yrs of independence, it is worrying to know that we have not yet found a better way to deal with this situation. I believe our problem with waste management has to do with a lack of commitment to dealing with this problem.
